Highly individual deconstruciton/ reconstruction of some of jazz’s most ridden warhorses by a stunningly interactive trio of pianist John Esposito with bassist Ira Coleman and drummer Peter O’Brien. Described by Village Voice critic Kyle Gann as “… A virtuoso feat of recomposition as well as performance… jazz purified to the essence.” First trio recording by Esposito who critic John Zwed says plays with “…the lustrous clarity of a gamelan band…using repetion so brilliantly that crystalline forms accrue from it.” Recorded, mixed and mastered October 2003 by Scott Petito at NRS Studio, Catskill, NY. Released 2006. Cover pastel drawing by Jenn Davis.
